That this House is seriously concerned by the activities of Britannia Law, a Nottingham-based company, which uses aggressive telephone marketing techniques to persuade small businesses to employ them in order to substantially reduce their business rate obligations; deplores the use of a recorded telephone conversation as a binding contract in law; and calls on the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills to take all possible steps to protect small business proprietors from predatory companies of this type.
