Disability Action Group Wales

EDM number 2765 in 2010-12, proposed by Mark Williams on 23/02/2012.

That this House congratulates the work of the Disability Action Group Wales (DAGW) which is a not-for-profit organisation founded in 2011 by a paraplegic wheelchair user; commends the tireless work the Group does to raise awareness of the issues those living with disabilities face on a day-to-day basis by liaising with local authorities and elected representatives; further commends the important work the Group does to ensure that disabled people get together socially and are not isolated from their local community; further commends the aim of the DAGW in its work to Unite for Change in order that it may alter negative perceptions of those with disabilities ensuring they are not a hidden part of communities and prove that those with disabilities have an important contribution to make; and calls on the Government to further the ethos of the DAGW work in the action the Government takes on disability issues.
