Suicide Of Young People

EDM number 2753 in 2010-12, proposed by Jim Shannon on 22/02/2012.

That this House recognises the growing trend of suicides of young people in the UK and in particular in Northern Ireland; notes the recent report by the Royal College of Psychiatrists in Northern Ireland which found that alcohol misuse was a more common general feature of suicide and homicide in Northern Ireland than elsewhere in the UK; requests the Secretary of State for Health to initiate a review of services available for those suffering from depression; and thanks all of those private bodies who seek to provide a support network.

This motion has been signed by a total of 23 MPs.
