Youssef Boutros-Ghali

EDM number 2625 in 2010-12, proposed by Jeremy Corbyn on 20/01/2012.

That this House expresses its concern that Youssef Boutros-Ghali resides and roams freely in London despite having been sentenced in absentia to a 30-year prison term by an Egyptian court for fraud allegedly committed while he was the Finance Minister of the Mubarak government from 2004 to 2011, and despite being ordered to return 6 million he is accused of acquiring illegally; and notes that Egypt has requested his extradition from the UK since he fled his homeland in January 2011 shortly before the ousting of Mr Mubarak.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
