Irish World War Ii Veterans

EDM number 2587 in 2010-12, proposed by Jim Shannon on 11/01/2012.

That this House recognises the great sacrifice and bravery of all of the Irish World War II veterans andthanks them for aiding the UK and the Allied Forces during the war effort; notes that the Irish government still has not issued pardons for the 5,000 soldiers who fought or apologised for the stigma attached to those who fought barring them from state jobs and refusing military pensions; and calls on the Government to apply diplomatic pressure for a pardon and apology to those brave men who joined the rest of the Allies to prevent the Nazi domination of Europe.

This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs.
