Americium-241

EDM number 2523 in 2010-12, proposed by David Morris on 08/12/2011.
Categorised under the topics of Nuclear power and Research and innovation.

That this House notes that Americium-241 is a by-product of nuclear power stations such as those in Heysham; further notes that the University of Leicester is now developing radio isotope thermo electric generators that could turn this into a safe and low cost fuel to be used for space exploration; and congratulates both the University of Leicester and the wider nuclear physics community for continuing to innovate new and exciting forms of energy generation.

This motion has been signed by a total of 7 MPs.
