Display Of Poppies By Rugby League Teams

EDM number 2423 in 2010-12, proposed by Greg Mulholland on 10/11/2011.
Categorised under the topic of Sports.

That this House welcomes the fact that all four teams playing in this weekend's Four Nations Rugby League test matches will be proudly displaying poppies on their jerseys; commends the Rugby League International Federation and the Rugby Football League for permitting teams to display the symbolic poppy during the games over Remembrance weekend, England v New Zealand on 12 November 2011 and Wales v Australia on 13 November 2011; and recognises the importance of sports teams being able to display this extremely important symbol during the Remembrance period and to show their support for servicemen and women and the Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal.
