Oldest Homo Sapiens Remains In The UK

EDM number 2380 in 2010-12, proposed by Adrian Sanders on 07/11/2011.
Categorised under the topic of Tourism.

That this House notes the carbondating of human remains found in Kent's Cavern, Torquay, indicate the area was attracting visitors between 41,000 and 44,000 years ago; further notes that Torquay and the English Riviera continue to attract visitors and that the area's climate, beauty and reputation for hospitality lie behind it remaining one of the most popular holiday destinations in the UK, but notes thedifficulties some visitors encounter on the A380 through Kingskerwell and how poor transport links are a barrier to investment; and therefore hopes the area will not have to wait another 40,000 years before a by-pass linking Torbay to the duel carriageway and motorway network at Newton Abbot is constructed.
