Personal Mobility In State-Funded Care
EDM number 2374 in 2010-12, proposed by Peter Bottomley on 03/11/2011.
Categorised under the topics of Elderly people and Health services.
That this House welcomes the Low Review, prompted by Mencap and Leonard Cheshire Disability, into personal mobility in residential care; notes its quotation that `people in residential care should have the same entitlement as anyone else to exercise choice and control over their care and how they live' from the Government's November 2010 A Vision for Adult Social Care; accepts the need to be able to fulfil aspirations including mobility whether in a parent's home, a home in the community or in a residential home; and further welcomes the seven recommendations including that disabled people living in state-funded residential care should be eligible to receive the mobility component on the same basis as disabled people receiving care in their own homes.
