Worldskills London 2011 (No. 2)

EDM number 2295 in 2010-12, proposed by Barry Sheerman on 20/10/2011.
Categorised under the topics of Employment and Training.

That this House congratulates the UK team on its brilliant success in the WorldSkills London Competition 2011, finishing 5th out of 39 countries, achieving five gold, two silver and six bronze medals, the most successful performance to date; recognises the valiant work of UK Skills and the Skills Commission in campaigning for the London venue and all those who trained the talented young competitors; notes that over 200,000 young people visited the event at the ExCel Centre; and expresses disappointment at the lack of coverage of this success in the BBC and the media generally.

This motion has been signed by a total of 14 MPs.
