That this House welcomes Lloydspharmacy's innovative and forward thinking approach to raising awareness of Type2 diabetes, announced during National Diabetes Week 2011; notes that 100,000 people are diagnosed with Type2 diabetes every year in the UK, around one new case every five minutes; further notes the advances in smartphone technology which allows people to use their telephone to assess their risk of developing Type2 diabetes along with educating them about the condition; and congratulates Lloydspharmacy for this important advance in diabetes awareness.
