Computer Games Industry Tax Relief
EDM number 19 in 2010-12, proposed by Jim McGovern on 25/05/2010.
Categorised under the topics of Arts and Taxation.
That this House urges the Chancellor of the Exchequer to announce his support and implement tax relief for the UK's computer games industry; considers tax relief essential to allow the UK to compete on a level playing field with other European countries and worldwide; considers the computer games industry of vital importance to the UK economy and particularly the City of Dundee where it employs upwards of 500 people; and further considers the cost of implementing this tax relief would be negligible set against the return on investment which would play a key role in economic recovery.
