That this House notes that May 2011 marks the 400th anniversary of the first publication of the Authorised Version of the Bible; recognises that accolades and tributes have been paid regarding this Bible from scholars, commentators and many who hold no religious outlook and that it has been termed one of the masterpieces of English Literature; and encourages both hon. Members and the wider public to test for themselves the basis of true Godly love by reading the profound yet wonderful prose contained in the 16th verse of the third chapter of John's Gospel in that Authorised Version.
