Israel And The Agreement On Conformity Assessment And Acceptance Of Industrial Products
EDM number 1773 in 2010-12, proposed by Caroline Lucas on 03/05/2011.
Categorised under the topic of Middle East.
That this House notes that the Agreement on Conformity Assessment and Acceptance of Industrial Products (ACAA) as it relates to Israel has been put on the agenda for the next standing committee on International Trade (INTA) meeting on 23 May 2011; further notes that INTA decided unanimously to freeze the consent procedure of the EU-Israel agreement on the ACAA of Industrial Products for the free movement of goods and technical regulations following the illegal Israeli military attack against the humanitarian aid flotilla in international waters; and remains steadfastly against the unfreezing of the ACAA protocol on the basis that any possible consideration of the upgrading of trade relations between the EU and Israel must go hand in hand with lifting the blockade on Gaza, full respect of international humanitarian and human rights obligations and genuine commitments towards a comprehensive political settlement of the conflict.
