Policing In Bassetlaw
EDM number 1738 in 2010-12, proposed by John Mann on 26/04/2011.
Categorised under the topic of Police.
That this House recognises the achievements and professionalism of Nottinghamshire Police in Bassetlaw; is deeply worried that 13 forces, including the Nottinghamshire Constabulary, are planning to use the A19 regulation of the 1987 Police Pensions Act to force some officers who have given more than 30 years' service to retire; fears that usage of the A19 regulation will lead to a loss of the experience and expertise that is so valuable in policing; condemns in the strongest possible terms any money-saving move by the Government that will endanger members of the public; and calls on the Government to review its proposed 20 per cent. cut of policing budgets and to rule out any further use of this regulation.
This motion has been signed by a total of 5 MPs.
