25th Anniversary Of Chernobyl Disaster

That this House notes that 26 April 2011 marks the 25th anniversary of the tragedy which occurred at the Chernobyl nuclear power plants in 1986 and pays tribute to its victims; recognises the necessity of continuing international efforts to deal with the consequences of the disaster and to make Chernobyl a safe and secure site; and welcomes the outcome of the recent Kiev summit on Safe and Innovative Use of Nuclear Energy in promoting the further development of international co-operation to ensure the safety and reliability of nuclear power generation.
