Public Holidays In England And Wales

EDM number 1731 in 2010-12, proposed by Bob Russell on 26/04/2011.
Categorised under the topic of Employment.

That this House recognises that England and Wales possess the fewest number of public holidays in the EU, at nine days; notes that this is the case despite 2011's extra bank holiday to celebrate the Royal Wedding; further recognises that no nation of the United Kingdom matches the European Union's average allocation of public holidays of 11.85; and thus furtherrecognises the need to create a new public holiday in England and Wales rather than relocate the May Bank Holiday.

This motion has been signed by a total of 15 MPs.
