World Autism Awareness Day

That this House calls on the Government to recognise the importance of World Autism Awareness Day on Saturday 2 April 2011; notes that over half a million people in the UK have autism; understands that autism is a serious lifelong and disabling condition; recognises that the right support at the right time can make an enormous difference to people's lives; welcomes the first anniversary of the publication of the Adult Autism Strategy and subsequent publication of statutory guidance to the groundbreaking Autism Act 2009; further welcomes the opportunity for authorities to develop better services for adults with autism; and urges the Government to continue to strive to improve the lives of all people with autism.
