That this House recognises the importance for employment and the national economy of the UK's oil refineries; is concerned about the impact of any further reduction in the number of oil refineries in the UK; notes that of the eight remaining refineries, two are up for sale; further recognises that the industry supports 150,000 jobs across the country and operates to the highest environmental standards in the world; and calls on the Government to take steps to ensure continued investment in UK oil refining to maintain security of supply of all fuels produced.
