One Million Free Books Campaign

That this House notes the recent events connected with World Book Day; acknowledges that distributing one million free books is to be highly commended; expresses the hope that the ongoing issues associated with literacy problems can be highlighted as a result of this worthwhile initiative; and calls on the relevant Government departments to respond to the project by taking positive steps to increase accessibility to reading, particularly among young people.
