Visit Of The Minister For Pensions To Bassetlaw Constituency
EDM number 1407 in 2010-12, proposed by John Mann on 07/02/2011.
Categorised under the topic of Ministers.
That this House notes the visit of the Minister for Pensions to Worksop's new library on 10 February 2011 to showcase digital inclusion; further notes that the Conservatives and Liberals on Nottinghamshire County Council sought to abandon this Labour-initiated investment and is cutting the opening hours of libraries across Bassetlaw and Nottinghamshire whilst increasing the number of high paid executives; further notes that the Minister's visit coincides with a by-election in a coalition-held council seat; welcomes the invitation to the Minister from the hon. Member for Bassetlaw to stay and observe the by-election count; and encourages him to report back to the House on the Liberal performance and on the attitude of local people to coaltion cuts in libraries, policing, care homes, hospitals and other front line services.
