Stoke-On-trent (Electoral Changes) Order 2011

EDM number 1380 in 2010-12, proposed by Joan Walley on 01/02/2011.
Categorised under the topics of Elections and Electoral systems.

That this House notes that the Stoke-on-Trent (Electoral Changes) Order 2011 seeks to implement the recommendations of the Electoral Commission's review of electoral arrangements for Stoke-on-Trent Council; recognises that many representations were received in respect of those changes; further notes that the timetable for implementation is somewhat later than envisaged; particularly notes the concern of the three hon. Members representing Stoke-on-Trent constituencies that in the case of some new wards, including on the eastern side of the city, contrary to what was originally expected, there is not to be a one member one ward arrangement; and urges the Commission to revisit this proposal at the earliest opportunity.

This motion has been signed by a total of 10 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
