That this House opposes the actions by the Egyptian government in shutting down the broadcast station Al Jazeera in the country and arresting its correspondents; and urges the Government and the Foreign Secretary to make the strongest representations to the Egyptian government and the international community for the immediate release of the journalists and to allow Al Jazeera to function and report fully and freely in accordance with the right to a democratic and free press and media.
