That this House recognises the 50th anniversary of the use of Agent Orange on 10 August 1961 on the people and land of Vietnam resulting in many thousands of deaths and abnormal births; notes the continuing legacy today in Vietnam of 3.5 million people suffering from various related illnesses and deformities; and calls on the 37 chemical companies, headed by Monsanto and Dow Chemicals, to accept their responsibility for the use of Agent Orange and its consequences, and to make compensation to the Vietnamese victims and their families.
