Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority Phone Line

EDM number 1339 in 2010-12, proposed by David Morris on 25/01/2011.
Categorised under the topics of Civil Service, Members of Parliament and Telecommunications.

That this House notes that the Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is charged with paying and monitoring hon. Members' expenses; further notes that recent Freedom of Information requests show that hon. Members and their staff spent 70 working days on the telephone to IPSA's Helpline, calling from the Parliamentary Estate, in only the first six months of this Parliament; deplores that this telephone line is now open only four hours a day; and demands that IPSA reopens this telephone line so that those suffering problems are able to resolve them.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
