North West Planning Aid

EDM number 1133 in 2010-12, proposed by John Leech on 03/12/2010.
Categorised under the topic of Planning.

That this House recognises the work carried out by the North West Planning Aid (NWPA) service, that for over 30 years has provided invaluable help to local individual and groups and whole communities throughout the North West; recognises the awareness-raising, training, educational events and direct professional advice to encourage and help residents to become involved in local planning decisions, that NWPA provides; realises that without volunteers the planning aid service would not exist; acknowledges that NWPA fits within the localism agenda; and is concerned about the future of this service in the light of ongoing uncertainty regarding its future funding.
