BBC Asian Network

EDM number 1132 in 2010-12, proposed by Keith Vaz on 03/12/2010.
Categorised under the topic of Broadcasting.

That this House notes with great concern the BBC's plan to close the digital radio station BBC Asian Network; recognises the need for a national radio station catering for the Asian population in the UK; fully supports the station's unique position at the heart of the Asian community, providing a platform for British Asian content and culture since it began in the Midlands in 1988; and urges the Government to encourage the role of the BBC Asian Network as a stage for British Asian culture to continue to develop and grow.

This motion has been signed by a total of 13 MPs.
