That this House congratulates the government and people of Taiwan on the conduct of its municipal elections in the Taipei, Xinbei, Taichung, Tainan and Kaohsiung regions; notes the constructive engagement of the Chinese Nationalist Party (Kuomintang) and Democratic Progressive Party in the democratic process; and praises the government of Taiwan's steadfast commitment to building a lasting liberal democracy for all of its 23 million inhabitants.
