Tony Blair's comments about Iran during his evidence to the inquiry into the war on Iraq; considers them deeply unhelpful and an astonishing breach of the inquiry's remit; expresses regret that Sir John Chilcot felt unable to intervene during Mr Blair's hawkish transgression; is dismayed that Mr Blair should use such a high profile appearance to crudely pre-empt UK foreign policy on Iran; and believes that this confirms that he is a barrier to rather than a facilitator of peace in the Middle East.
