Market Town Taverns' Christmas Charity Appeal

EDM number 515 in 2009-10, proposed by Greg Mulholland on 16/12/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Charities.

That this House supports Market Town Taverns' charitable drive to raise funds for the housing and homelessness charity Shelter; notes the invaluable work of Shelter in giving advice and advocacy to people in housing need; commends Market Town Taverns in running, 10 excellent pubs in the north of England with a real commitment to locally brewed real ale, for its initiative in asking all customers to donate 50 pence over the Christmas season; recognises the current economic instability in the pub trade; and thanks both those operating the campaign and those who have supported the campaign and donated money to Shelter during this difficult time.
