Convicted Prisoners' Right To Vote In Elections (No. 2)

EDM number 504 in 2009-10, proposed by Graham Stringer on 16/12/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Electoral franchise.

That this House regrets that the European Court of Human Rights ruled in 2004 that the UK's blanket ban on convicted prisoners having the right to vote was in breach of its convention; notes that the convicted child murderer Peter Chester-Speakman failed in his attempt to get the High Court to grant him and all other convicted prisoners the right to vote; and therefore calls on the Government to bring forward legislative proposals to maintain the ban.

This motion has been signed by a total of 11 MPs.
