That this House congratulates the largest confectionary company in Scotland, Inverclyde's Golden Casket on its 50th anniversary; applauds its chairman and founder, Douglas Rae, for his decades of service to Scottish business and sport; acknowledges that the company's acquisition of Greenock Morton rescued the club from ruin and guaranteed the continuation of the town's historic football tradition; welcomes the fact that Golden Casket continues to be a major employer with over 200 people currently working for the company; and commends Golden Casket for its commitment to making Fairtrade products and its use of Fairtrade sugar, which guarantees a fair deal to farmers in the developing world.
