Professor David Chiddick

That this House congratulates Professor David Chiddick on his retirement as Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lincoln; notes the superb achievements of the University of Lincoln under his stewardship, with the key partnership support of Lincolnshire Co-operative Society, in becoming recognised as one of the best and fastest improving universities in Britain, despite only being established in 2001; further notes Professor Chiddick's important previous leadership role as Pro-Vice-Chancellor of De Montfort University and his role in achieving the excellent regeneration of the Bede Island area of Leicester; and wishes him well in seeking university-led regeneration of the Northern Ireland city of Derry-Londonderry through the University for Derry group.
