Use Of Local Police To Replace Striking Public And Commercial Services Union Security Staff

EDM number 1180 in 2009-10, proposed by Kate Hoey on 24/03/2010.
Categorised under the topic of Industrial relations.

That this House deplores the decision of the House authorities to draft in regular police to replace striking Public and Commercial Services Union security officers on 8,9 and 24 March 2010; notes that the police presence was far higher than on other days; regrets that hon. Members were not consulted about this overreaction; condemns the loss of resources from neighbouring boroughs such as Lambeth for this purpose; and calls on the House authorities to exercise better judgement and to avoid wasting money and manpower when there are constituents who need more police on their streets.

This motion has been signed by a total of 11 MPs.
