Neighbourhood And Home Watch

That this House commends the aims and achievements of Neighbourhood and Home Watch; notes that it is the biggest and most successful community-run crime prevention scheme; supports the ethos of the scheme which encourages neighbourhood cohesion and community spirit; further notes the valuable outcomes of local schemes such as the reduction of crime and disorder and promotion of better crime prevention and home security; welcomes the partnerships of local police forces with neighbourhood and home watch schemes; further notes the support given to the schemes by the Home Office by their promotion of the movement in England and Wales and the range of free publicity materials; calls on the Government to continue to recognise the value of Neighbourhood and Home Watch schemes; and, most importantly, thanks all volunteers nationwide who spend their time organising and contributing to successful schemes.
