Closure Of Hm Revenue And Customs Offices

EDM number 983 in 2008-09, proposed by Greg Pope on 04/03/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Benefits administration.

That this House welcomes the contribution which HM Revenue and Customs employees make to the skills base and economy of the towns in which they work; recognises that the closure of HM Revenue and Customs offices will have a negative impact on local economies; believes that the role of government is to be actively on the side of local people especially during difficult economic circumstances; and calls for an immediate moratorium on the closure programme of HM Revenue and Customs offices and the establishment of a proper economic impact assessment before its reinstatement.

This motion has been signed by a total of 53 MPs, 1 of these signatures have been withdrawn.
