EDM number 962 in 2008-09, proposed by Harry Cohen on 03/03/2009.
Categorised under the topic of EU grants and loans.

That this House draws attention to the existence of the European Globalisation Fund; notes that eight member states have already made applications for one or more awards from the Fund, totalling over 82 million euros, of which over 67 million euros have so far been granted; further notes that the UK has not made any application for an award from the Fund; draws attention to the failure of the Government to make an application; and calls on the Government to consider seeking assistance from the Fund for active labour market measures to support those who have lost their jobs in the automotive industry, the retail industry and the financial services sector.

This motion has been signed by a total of 18 MPs.
