That this House welcomes the launch of the Prevention of Fraud in Travel (PROFIT) initiative; congratulates the coalition of organisations which have come together to eliminate fraud from the travel industry including the Association of Payment Clearing Services, the Association of British Travel Agents, British Airways, the Civil Aviation Authority, Davenport Lyons, the Freedom Travel Group, the Global Travel Group, Hays Travel Ltd, the Hotel Security Managers Institution, the Metropolitan Police Service, Teletext Ltd and the Travel Trust Association; approves the collective approach to tackle travel fraud in an industry that accounted for a turnover of approximately £70 billion in 2008; notes that travel fraud can take many forms including bust outs, where criminals pose as legitimate travel companies, infiltration, where criminals infiltrate a legitimate company, and e-ticket fraud; and calls on the Government to support and promote PROFIT by encouraging all travel businesses to get involved in the fight against fraud.
