That this House calls on the Government to assist in bringing an immediate ceasefire between Israel and Hamas; recognises that the current escalation of violence is unprecedented in both the scope and the impact this is having on Gaza's children, who suffer physically and emotionally; is concerned that more than 1,000 Palestinian children and over 100 Israeli children have been killed in the conflict since 2000; and is further concerned that the ongoing attacks will only worsen the situation and occur at a time when the Gazan population is already severely afflicted.
