That this House congratulates the British Marine Federation on its investment in the 55th London International Boat Show that will take place on 9 to 18 January 2009 at the ExCeL Exhibition Centre; recognises that the Boat Show is a major sales platform for the UK leisure marine industry, which continues to be a successful sector, one of the few which is continuing to make a major contribution to the UK economy in times of economic hardship; and notes that the UK leisure and small commercial marine industry employs approximately 35,000 full-time equivalent employees, provides custom for 4,300 UK businesses and has a total industry revenue of Â£3.1 billion.
