Access To Nhs Dentists
EDM number 381 in 2008-09, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 12/01/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Health services.
That this House notes the difficulties residents in Chorley and other areas of the UK are having in gaining access to dentists taking NHS patients; recognises that money has been made available from central government to increase the number of dentists accepting NHS patients but that primary care trusts are not taking the necessary steps to apply these funds to improve access to dentists; and calls on Ministers to put pressure on primary care trusts in order to ensure that the funds the Government has made available are spent on providing better access to dentists for NHS patients within the trusts' respective local areas.
