Ewing School

EDM number 346 in 2008-09, proposed by John Leech on 17/12/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Schools and Special educational needs.

That this House commends the work carried out by staff and teachers in schools for children with speech and language disorders; notes with deep concern the proposals put forward by Manchester City Council to close Ewing School in West Didsbury, which has won awards for inclusion; believes that breaking up this school community and forcing children to move to specialist units in a mainstream school environment is not the best way to promote inclusion; recognises the campaigning efforts of the Parents Against the Closure of Ewing group; and calls on Manchester City Council urgently to reconsider these proposals.

This motion has been signed by a total of 5 MPs.
