Ex-Service Personnel And Post Traumatic Stress Disorder In Prison
EDM number 267 in 2008-09, proposed by James Gray on 11/12/2008.
Categorised under the topics of Health services and Veterans.
That this House is concerned at the level of care given to ex-service personnel suffering from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in prison; is disturbed by the fact that around £340 million of taxpayers' money is spent keeping the 8,500 troops/veterans inside the prison system yet they are not assessed or treated for PTSD; further notes that no research has been done by the Government into how many ex-service personnel in prison have PTSD; and urges the Government to do more to support ex-service personnel in prison.
