Tenth Annual Gibraltar Day In The City Of London

EDM number 2119 in 2008-09, proposed by Andrew Rosindell on 20/10/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Overseas territories.

That this House acknowledges the importance of the tenth Gibraltar Day in the City of London on 19 October celebrating the exceptionally warm bonds and close ties that unite the peoples of Gibraltar and the United Kingdom, aided by their shared customs, traditions and commercial links; thanks the government of Gibraltar for recognising the City of London as the most appropriate location to celebrate Gibraltar Day at the historic venue of The Guildhall; recognises the significance, not just of the legal ties, but also of the trade and commercial interactions that exist between Britain and Gibraltar; and congratulates the Royal Gibraltar Regiment Band and Corps of Drums, the London Scottish Pipes and Drums and members of the Band of the Honourable Artillery Company, for their magnificent military musical display, rightly highlighting the service to Queen and country given by Gibraltarians throughout their three hundred and five years as British subjects.
