Advertisement Regulations And Planning Appeals
EDM number 2054 in 2008-09, proposed by John Hemming on 15/10/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Planning.
That this House notes that planning inspectors can only consider amenity and public safety as set out in the Advertisement Regulations and are unable to consider that an advertisement application contravenes the unitary development plan or frameworks similar to the Birmingham City Plan; believes that the inability of planning inspectors to consider local authority planning policies in cities such as Birmingham demonstrates an inadequacy in the process; and supports the call of Birmingham Planning Committee, other planners, and conservationists, for this democratic deficit to be brought back into balance.
This motion has been signed by a total of 9 MPs.
