Stop On Territorial Army Training

EDM number 2028 in 2008-09, proposed by Lindsay Hoyle on 13/10/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Armed forces.

That this House expresses its concern that Territorial Army (TA) training is to be frozen for six months in order to cut back on Army budget spending; fears that this cut represents the beginning of a dangerous neglect of this part of the UK's armed services; notes the contributions made by the TA to both Iraq and Afghanistan in the last six years and questions the effect the cuts will have on the TA's operational contributions in the future; notes with concern the effect on existing TA soldiers' skills, morale and publicly perceived value; and calls on the Ministry of Defence to reconsider its position as a priority.

This motion has been signed by a total of 54 MPs.
