Funding For Leeds Arena

That this House condemns the Government's decision to refuse the funding bid for the Leeds Arena; considers that an arena in Leeds would be of enormous economic and social benefit to the City of Leeds; regrets the fact that there is no large central concert venue in Leeds; recognises the need for a large concert hall in a city of the size and importance of Leeds; regrets political interference in this decision; and calls on the Government to reconsider the decision to refuse funding for the Leeds Arena and appreciates the hard work done by the Leeds City Council to support the scheme.
