West Coast Mainline Travel Centres

EDM number 1963 in 2008-09, proposed by Paul Farrelly on 21/07/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Railways.

That this House congratulates the Government on its record of unprecedented investment in the West Coast Mainline, bringing a previously cash-starved railway into the 21st century; welcomes Virgin Rail's continued investment in and improvement of services along the route; is concerned, however, by proposals to close the travel centres at Crewe, Stafford, Birmingham International and Coventry stations, along with a number of booking office machines across the network; recognises that travel centre staff offer an excellent service and valuable assistance for Virgin passengers; and calls on the company to re-think these proposals in the interests of these main towns and stations on the route of the otherwise excellent West Coast Mainline service.

This motion has been signed by a total of 9 MPs.
