East Coast Main Line

EDM number 1912 in 2008-09, proposed by John Grogan on 16/07/2009.
Categorised under the topic of Railways.

That this House notes that the Government is proposing to take over the running of the East Coast Main Line franchise and that this will be the second franchise termination on the line within three years; and believes that to provide certainty for business and leisure travellers on this important strategic route and to provide a public sector comparator for the rest of the industry, the Government should commit itself to keeping the franchise in public hands for an extended period.

This motion has been signed by a total of 57 MPs.
