That this House recognises the 40th anniversary of the Stonewall demonstrations in New York City; notes that these demonstrations represented a turning point in the fight for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender rights; further notes the impact the demonstrations had on helping to form gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender civil rights groups globally; welcomes the moves made by the current government to protect the rights of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people in the UK; and calls on the Government to further this work, including addressing the high rates of homophobic crimes and homophobic bullying.
